Marketplace Roundup: Canterbury Named Kit Supplier For Bath Rugby

Canterbury will be the kit supplier to Premiership rugby side Bath Rugby from next season. The players will first wear their new strip against Gloucester in the West Country Challenge Cup, at the Memorial Stadium in Bristol, on Sept. 12 (BATH CHRONICLE, 5/14). ... Airbnb has partnered with Maracanã stadium to transform a box into a suite and, through a contest, will select "one person to spend the night at the stadium and watch a match" between Brasileiro sides Flamengo and Fluminense. The winner will come to the stadium the night before the match, receive a tour and meet former footballer Renato Gaúcho (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 5/13). ... Surfer Gabriel Medina is "the new face" of Air New Zealand and will be featured on the company's on-board security video. The deal is valid for all Asia and Oceania regions. Medina and Air NZ are also "negotiating" terms of the same video segment for the airline's Brazilian region (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 5/14). ... The Int'l Volleyball Federation (FIVB) renewed its partnership with Japanese company Mikasa to provide the official balls for all FIVB volleyball and beach volleyball events until the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (FIVB). ... Virgin Trains, sponsors of Preston North End, apologized "after it was confirmed that bank holiday engineering works will leave the club’s fans stranded in London" following the League One playoff final on May 24. The match between Swindon Town and Preston has been dubbed "the Replacement Bus final" by supporters of both sides (PA, 5/14). ... Cricketer Yuvraj Singh will represent UCWeb's flagship mobile browser UC Browser as a product specialist and brand ambassador. India and other emerging markets are leading growth drivers for UCWeb. The signing of Singh strengthens UCWeb's commitment and long-term plans for the India market (UCWeb).
