Event Notes: Everton And Stoke City To Kick Off Asia Trophy In Singapore

EPL clubs Everton and Stoke City will open the Barclays Asia Trophy 2015 in Singapore when they meet each other in National Stadium on July 15. The fixtures for the tournament, which takes place in the Lion City for the first time, were announced, along with prices for tickets that going on sale Wednesday at 10am Singapore time. After Everton and Stoke play, Arsenal will take on a Singapore Select XI with the winners of the two matches meeting in the final three days later, on July 18 (Premier League). ... Australia will play the U.S. in Chicago on Sept. 5 in a warm-up for the Rugby World Cup in England. The Wallabies' match at Soldier Field, home of the NFL's Chicago Bears, will be the highlight of a two-week U.S. tour. It will be Australia’s first Test in the U.S. in "almost 40 years and just the fourth time the Wallabies have played there" (AFP, 5/14). ... Tickets for Steven Gerrard's final home game for Liverpool this weekend are on sale for more than £1,300 ($2,000). Prices on ticketbis.net ranged from more than £100 ($157) to £1,324.64 ($2,084.19) "before the captain's farewell against Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday." Tickets at that top price in the Main Stand normally sell at £47 ($73.95) for what is a Category C game (BBC, 5/12). ... Scottish Championship side Rangers will give Hibernian "just 950 tickets" if they face each other in a playoff showdown at Ibrox. Hibernian will find out on Sunday who it will face in the Premiership semifinal playoff. If its Rangers, Hibs will receive less than 2% of the Ibrox capacity (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 5/13).
