Media Notes: Glory Sports Int'l Signs With Three New Broadcast Partners

Glory kickboxing parent company Glory Sports Int'l announced deals with three new broadcast partners. Brokered by Total Sports Asia, GSI signed deals with KBS N (covering South Korea), Digi Sport (covering Hungary and Romania), and StarTimes (covering Africa) (Glory World Series). ... ESPN named Publicitas the exclusive representative of its TV and digital media advertising portfolio in Germany, Italy, Spain and the UAE as ESPN looks to enhance its advertising sales solutions across the EMEA region (ESPN). ... Sportradar "has become the sports data partner" of the Romanian Professional Football League (LPF). The Swiss-based company "will collect, archive and distribute data to the media and betting industry on behalf of the LPF" until the end of the '17-18 season (SOCCEREX, 5/7). ... Tata Communications announced that it has been chosen by Formula One Management to provide broadcast services for the GP2, GP3 and Porsche Supercup racing series. Tata Communications will provide end-to-end fiber and satellite solutions to broadcasters from across the globe at the 12 race locations in '15 (Tata). ... FIFA "has heavily criticized its broadcasting partner in Germany for a documentary about World Cup hosts Russia and Qatar that was aired after a reporter revealed his filming crew had been arrested in Doha and had footage and personal data deleted." FIFA Communications Dir Walter de Gregorio alleged that German network ARD distorted facts in a ''bashing'' of football's governing body. De Gregorio: ''Although the fact that a public-service broadcaster allows such a bashing is nothing new, it is astonishing nonetheless" (FOX SPORTS, 5/7).
