Marketplace Roundup: DEL Side Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers, Tucher Brewery Extend Partnership

German Hockey League (DEL) side Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers and Tucher Brewery extended their partnership until the end of the '16-17 season. Tucher will remain a premium partner of the Nuremberg-based team and continue to sell beer and beer-mix beverages at Ice Tigers games (Ice Tigers). ... Neymar has become an ambassador for PokerStars. He will promote PokerStars in advertising, charitable events and special appearances, including participating in major live and online poker tournaments. Neymar has more than 18 million Twitter followers and 51.2 million Facebook fans (PokerStars). ... Asics launched a new TV commercial starring Gaël Monfils, showing the French tennis player "rebutting a barrage of tennis balls." The global spot, which shows Monfils fighting off hundreds of tennis balls being shot at him by masked gunmen, "reimagines the sport in a video game-esque scene as Monfils bats them away at lightning speed -- thanks to his new trainers" (MARKETING MAGAZINE, 5/7). ... Juventus striker Álvaro Morata teamed up with Doyen Global. Working alongside his father and agent Juanma López, the long-term partnership deal will see the agency oversee the management of the player across all commercial and sponsorship activity (Doyen). ... AJ Bell has "become title sponsor" of the London Triathlon. The newly titled AJ Bell London Triathlon continues to hold the title of the "world’s largest triathlon, playing host to 13,000 triathletes and more than 30,000 spectators each year" (TRIATHLON BUSINESS, 5/6).
