Slovakian Club MFK Kosice Unveils $16.9M Stadium Project To Be Completed In '17

Slovakian club MFK Kosice has unveiled its plans to "move to a new stadium" under a project estimated to be worth €15M ($16.9M), according to Jaroslaw Adamowski of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. The Slovak side's new stadium is expected to be completed in '17. Under the plan, the municipal authorities of Kosice will acquire an 85% stake in the company which will operate the stadium, "while the club's owner will obtain the remaining 15% of the shares." Construction work on the new 9,080-capacity stadium is "expected to be launched this year." In addition to the funds provided by the municipal authorities, "the Slovak government will co-finance the project." The state authorities are to provide a non-refundable grant of €4M ($4.5M) (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 5/7).
