Franchise Notes: McLaren F1 Team Unveils New Car Color Scheme

McLaren has unveiled the "first fundamentally new colour scheme" on its F1 car in 18 years. The team has "ditched the predominantly silver livery" it has sported since '97 in "favour of graphite grey, with day-glo orange highlights." A spokesperson "described the new design as 'a dynamic, predatory graphite-grey colouration, complemented by McLaren day-glow 'speedmarks' and key lines'" (BBC, 5/6). ... Four days after launching its newest membership program, with memberships starting at R$9 ($2.95), Brasileiro side Corinthians "achieved" 102,000 members on Tuesday. In terms of memberships, the club is "now ranked third nationally," behind second place Palmeiras with 119,500 members and Internacional with 136,980 (ESTADÃO, 5/5).
