La Liga Valencia President Amadeo Salvo Optimistic Over Passage Of New Law

La Liga side Valencia President Amadeo Salvo hopes that now that the law requiring the centralized sale of TV rights has passed, clubs will be able to "market the TV rights for what he considers the best league in the world," according to Pascual Calabuig of SUPERDEPORTE. Salvo said, "Once and for all, the Real Decreto means the collective and centralized sale of the rights. Facing the 'inefficiency' to bring this forward ourselves -- the clubs -- the government has addressed the topic. It is time to give value to the Spanish league as much in our country as, above all, on the international level. It really has value. We have it here, but we have to be capable of generating a top-rate product. To me, our product is superior to that of the Premier League and they have stratospheric revenue." In this regard, clubs are aware "their revenue will increase more still as a clean and transparent competition between broadcasters pushing for the rights will be guaranteed." Spanish Football League (LFP) President Javier Tebas's prediction of selling the rights package for €1B ($1.12B) could increase by €300M ($336M) if "the international markets are exploited conveniently, especially the Asian markets." According to calculations, the €48M ($54M) Valencia will receive from TV rights this year will increase to somewhere between €65M ($73M) and €70M ($78M) (SUPERDEPORTE, 5/5).
