Former Premier League footballer DELROY FACEY "has been jailed for two-and-a-half years after being convicted of match fixing allegations." Facey was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court of "conspiring to bribe non-league players." Former non-league player MOSES SWAIBU, 25, was also "found guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery." Swaibu was "jailed for 16 months for his part in the conspiracy" (BBC, 4/29). ... EDVALDO VALÉRIO, the first African-Brazilian to win an Olympic Medal in swimming, will release his biography "Edvaldo Bala Valério: The Stroke of Hope," written by journalist RAPHAEL CARNEIRO, on May 13 (GLOBO ESPORTE, 4/28).
