Premiership Rugby side London Wasps announced that JOHN PARKER has joined as group finance director. Parker joins Wasps from Gloucester Rugby, where in his role as finance director & company secretary, he was instrumental in bringing the Rugby World Cup to Gloucester and saw the club go from making financial losses to continued sustainable financial profits. Parker will be based at Wasps’ new home, the Ricoh Arena, and will be responsible for both the club and Arena Coventry Ltd., reporting to CEO DAVID ARMSTRONG (Wasps). ... Canal+ Group has named DELPHINE D'AMARZIT as its secretary-general (Canal+). ... Australian TIM CUTLER "has been appointed as Hong Kong Cricket's first chief executive." Cutler "will take up his position next month after being chosen from a global search, which attracted 120 applicants." The Hong Kong Cricket Association appointed a full-time CEO "to oversee all aspects of the game from the grass roots to the national level" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 4/27). ... Mizuno USA named Columbia Sportswear Dir of Global Footwear Product TODD LEWIS as its new global director of performance running. The move marks the "latest step as the Japanese sporting goods company with U.S. headquarters near Atlanta expands its Portland Running Center for Excellence, which was announced two years ago" (OREGONIAN, 4/24). ... Intel named Visa Head of Sports & Entertainment Sponsorships MATT KAUFFMAN to lead its global brand experience, events and sponsorship team. Kauffman leaves Visa after a decade with the company. He was named to SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's "Forty Under 40" list in '07 (THE DAILY).

COACHES/MANAGERS: SERGIO SCARIOLO will return as head coach of Spain's national basketball team. The news was announced by VICENTE AZPITARTE of Spanish radio program "Tirando a Fallar." The deal will be for two years, including the 2016 Olympics if Spain qualifies during this summer's Eurobasket. Scariolo, who coached the team from '09-12, has been chosen to return to the national team by Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) President JOSÉ LUIS SÁEZ (LIBERTAD DIGITAL, 4/26). ... Football Conference side Aldershot Town has appointed former Dundee and Alloa Athletic boss BARRY SMITH as its new manager on a one-year rolling contract. CHRIS BARKER, who has "been in caretaker charge since ANDY SCOTT was sacked in January, will remain with the Shots as player-assistant manager" (BBC, 4/27). ... Ethiopia has appointed YOHANNES SAHLE as the new national football team coach. Sahle replaces Portuguese MARIANO BARRETO. Sahle's first task is to "prepare the team for the 2017 Nations Cup qualifiers, starting in June" (BBC, 4/27).
