Chilean National Football Team Signs Eight-Year, $56M Kit Deal With Nike

For the first time in its history, the Chilean national football team will be sponsored by Nike after the Chilean Football Federation (ANFP) signed an eight-year deal with Nike worth $56M, according to AS. The $7M annual value of the deal is "worth significantly more" than Chile's previous five-year, $2.3M-per-year deal with Puma, which had been the ANFP's sponsor since just after the 2010 World Cup. The new deal with Nike will take effect in August following this summer's Copa América. Puma, adidas and Under Armour had all bid to sponsor Chile (AS, 4/24).
