Mayweather-Pacquiao Tickets Hit Market, Expected To Cost Up To $100,000 On Resale

Tickets for next week's fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao "finally" went on sale on Thursday, with some expected to cost $100,000 on the resale market, according to the BBC. The MGM Grand in Las Vegas has a capacity of 16,500 "but only about 1,000 seats can be bought by the public." The cheapest ticket for the May 2 bout will cost $1,500, rising to around $7,500. With nine days to the fight, "the sale of tickets had become a key issue." Reports claimed they had been unavailable "because the two sides were arguing over who got what tickets and where they were located" (BBC, 4/23).

IN SPAIN: EL MUNDO reported the bout between Mayweather and Pacquiao will be available in Spain on pay-per-view through TotalChannel (OTT). TotalChannel's owner, Mediapro, "has acquired the exclusive rights in Spain for the bout." The TV rights have been sold in more than 150 countries (EL MUNDO, 4/22).
