Spanish Football Federation President Villar Defends Former Las Rozas Mayor In Court

Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) President Angel María Villar testified in court that former mayor of the Madrid municipality of Las Rozas Bonifacio de Santiago "fulfilled all his legal obligations in the loaning of the land" currently occupied by the RFEF's Ciudad del Fútbol, according to the EFE. Villar and RFEF Secretary General Jorge Pérez testified at the Madrid High Court of Justice (TSJM) on Wednesday in the case against the former Las Rozas mayor and other politicians "for not executing a ruling on the Ciudad del Fútbol." Villar claimed that the Las Rozas City Council carried out "great management" and that the previous regime met its obligations, given that, "after the court's ruling, the City Council registered the land under its name and the RFEF lost ownership of the grounds" (EFE, 4/15).
