Marketplace Roundup: Brasileiro Side Botafogo Renews Deal With Puma

Brasileiro side Botafogo announced on Tuesday the "contract renewal" with its sporting equipment provider, Puma, which will continue to be featured on the white and black uniform "even after" the 2016 Campeonato Carioca. The two parties "did not reveal major details of the agreement" (ESTADÃO, 4/7). ... Norwegian world champion boxer Cecilia Brækhus announced a new management and representation consortium including IMG, K2 Promotions and Klitschko Management Group. Brækhus' own promotion and management companies, First Lady Promotions and First Lady Sport, will work alongside IMG and K2 Promotions/KMG. The consortium will work together to arrange and promote fights inside and outside of Norway, and optimize her media profile and sponsorship opportunities (IMG). ... 2nd Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli renewed its longstanding sponsorship deal with insurance company Generali. The brand will continue to support the club as a third level sponsor until June 30, 2016. As part of the deal, Generali receives branding on "TV-visible perimeter boards and hospitality." Financial terms were not released but a Sponsors.de report estimates the deal to be worth in the region of €150,000 ($161,800) per year. Should the club be relegated to Germany's third tier, "the fee would reduce" by up to 30%, according to the report (SOCCEREX, 4/8). ... League One side Colchester United extended its shirt sponsorship deal with Weston Homes. The club and Weston have been partners for the last two years. Weston will continue to "display its logo on first team home shirts" for the next three seasons (EAST ANGLIAN DAILY TIMES, 4/7). ... New Balance added another team to its football roster on Tuesday when it announced a deal to design jerseys and training gear for the Costa Rican men's and women's national teams. The new deal comes two months after the company "declared its intentions" to enter the football markets for the first time. New Balance signed a record deal with Liverpool, reported to be worth up to $457M, and partnerships with EPL side Stoke City, Portuguese club FC Porto, La Liga side Sevilla, the Panama national team, and a "handful of prominent players" (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/7).
