Sky's Broadcast Of Dortmund-Munich Match Draws 'Double-Digit' Market Share

German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland "recorded more than 1.5 million viewers for its broadcast of the Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich," according to Uwe Mantel of DWDL. The game attracted 1.51 million viewers starting at 6:30pm on Saturday. The number translated into a market share of 6%. In the target demographic 14-49, Bayern's 1-0 win obtained a 10.6% share. It was the first time Sky "recorded a double-digit share this season." Sky's simulcast of the day's earlier games was watched by 1.18 million viewers. The program had a market share of 8.7%, along with 11.7% in the target demographic. German public broadcaster ARD attracted 4.74 million viewers for its Bundesliga highlights show "Sportschau." The show, which aired at 6:30pm, drew market shares of 22% and 16.4%, respectively. The country's second public broadcaster, ZDF, obtained an 11.6% share as 2.03 viewers tuned in to watch sports recap program "Aktuelle Sportstudio." In the target demo, the show had an 8.4% share (DWDL, 4/5).
