Sacked Football Presenter Adrian Chiles Nets Up To $1.5M Compensation From ITV

Sacked football presenter Adrian Chiles "agreed a mega pay-off" that will net him up to £1M ($1.5M) from ITV, according to Nigel Pauley of the London DAILY MIRROR. His lawyers "finally negotiated the hefty settlement" two months after television bosses axed him from his £500,000 ($744,000)-a-year contract. Chiles "was only six months into his two-year deal." It is believed ITV eventually agreed to pay him a "golden goodbye" of between £750,000 ($1.1M) and £1M ($1.4M). A source said, "Adrian’s sacking came as a big shock, not least to him. It is very rare for such a big name, who has done nothing wrong, to be axed so abruptly" (DAILY MIRROR, 4/4).
