Executive Transactions

GARY LOCKE is "set to sign a deal" Thursday to make him permanent manager of Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock. The former Heart of Midlothian boss has been "in charge on an interim basis" since taking over from ALLAN JOHNSTON in early February. Locke’s legal advisor LIAM O'DONNELL said, "We are optimistic that he will be signing this afternoon." Speaking at his prematch press conference before Saturday's game, Locke said, "I expect to sign a contract" (SCOTSMAN, 4/2). ... Lasting "only 15 games," Brasileiro side Goiás coach WAGNER LOPES was sacked. Lopes was "worn out and irritated" the majority of the board of directors after a match against Atlético Catalano, when he "made tough criticisms to the athletes." Goiás President SÉRGIO RASSI said the internal pressure to "keep the coach in his position was high" (GLOBO ESPORTE, 4/2).
