Facility Notes: High Winds Damage Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit Roof

Part of the "Wing" roof at the Silverstone motor racing circuit "has been damaged by high winds." Bosses said that "insulation debris was left in the Paddock, but repairs can be made before a meeting at the weekend and the British Grand Prix is not under threat." Engineers "are currently assessing the damage to the Wing and the circuit was working to ensure minimal disruption during repairs" (BBC, 3/31). ... Arsenal selected Musco Lighting to install new LED floodlights at Emirates Stadium in time for next season. Installation work will begin as soon as the current season is over, with the new lighting being in place for the start of the '15-16 campaign. Musco was appointed following a comprehensive evaluation process of floodlighting manufacturers (Arsenal). ... The municipal authorities of Poland's Chorzów "unveiled plans to launch construction works on a new stadium for local club Ruch Chorzow in early 2017." In the first phase of the project, the facility "will be fitted with a capacity of at least 4,500 seats." Once completed, the stadium "could have a capacity of up to 16,000 seats" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 4/1). ... Berlin-based hospitality and brand activation agency Zaechel Int'l is responsible for the redesign of the new hospitality area at the Friends Arena in Stockholm. VIP areas were officially inaugurated on the occasion of the int'l match between Sweden and Iran. The East Lounge and West Lounge are two business lounges, that, among other things, offer live cooking stations and design furniture as well as providing comfort for up to 2,630 VIP guests (Zaechel Int'l).
