Bayer Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade Says Bundesliga Suffers Due To Viagogo

Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen "is fighting black market tickets," according to BILD. Leverkusen's DFB Pokal (German Cup) quarterfinal matchup against Bayern Munich on April 8 is sold out. But for fans with deep pockets, tickets "are still available online." Secondary ticketing website viagogo has Cup tickets on five pages, with maximum profit margins and high fees. For example, four visitor standing room tickets sell for €1,191.49. A single ticket has a face value of €15. Bayer Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade: "It's insane! The whole league is suffering due to viagogo." Bayer spokesperson Meinolf Sprink: "Viagogo has stooges to buy tickets at each club." Cup tickets are also available on eBay. Sellers are offering envelopes for sale, with the included tickets free-of-charge. It is a "legal grey area" (BILD, 3/31).
