Dominion To Contribute $1.75M Over Two Years As Title Sponsor Of ACB Club Bilbao Basket

Spanish Basketball League side Bilbao Basket is "entering a new era," according to Alfonso Herrán of AS. CIE Automotive "has bet on basketball by becoming a sponsor of the club through" Dominion, a technological solutions and services company acquired by CIE in '11. The club will now be called Dominion Bilbao Basket. Dominion has 6,000 employees in 28 countries and is expected to record turnover of more than €500M ($545.5M) this year. The sponsorship deal is for two seasons and is worth a total of €1.6M ($1.75M). Dominion is acquiring "a significant share and will carry weight in the club's administrative council," but "will not do so directly." The management of the club "will be left in the hands" of auditing firm ATTEST. Dominion's involvement "will not mean the departure of that group." There will, "however, be restructuring and changes are expected in some departments of the club" (AS, 3/24).
