Spanish Second Division Side Girona President Assures Players Will Receive Owed Payments

Spanish second division side Girona's players are "beginning to lose patience because they have not been paid for two months," according to Marc Bernad Suelves of AS. Girona President Francesc Rebled "asked for calm because the payments will be made." Rebled: "The situation that we have economically is difficult, but they are aware of all of this. I meet with the captains and the coaching staff every week and I tell them about this subject. We are in the process of receiving an economic injection and we hope to resolve this in the coming days. ... We are working hard to have a solution by April 9." In response to the question of "whether players will be paid," Rebled added, "Of course. This is all agreed upon with them and the payments will be made, this is guaranteed. What I ask for is a little patience and confidence because within the club we are doing everything to make things right. I am aware it is not a pleasant situation, but it is what it is and we will pull forward" (AS, 3/18).
