La Liga Side Levante Improving Finances With Conservative Approach To Transfer Market

In five seasons competing in La Liga after earning promotion from the Spanish second division, Levante Sporting Dir Manolo Salvador and President Quico Catalán have spent a total of approximately €700,000 ($732,500) on players, according to Víctor López of AS. This season, the club only spent €100,000 ($104,600), on Toño. The club was paid €300,000 ($313,900) for Pape Diop. Also, Levante has "reduced its debt by more than 50% since its years in the second division." Of the more than €90M it owed five years ago, Levante will have only €30M left to pay off this summer. Levante has "earned a fortune year after year by selling players," like goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who signed with Real Madrid in '14 for €10M (AS, 3/15).
