FA Announces It Will Bring Its Domestic Licensing Program In-House

The FA has announced plans to bring its domestic licensing program in-house "for the first time" in the organization's history, according to SOCCEREX. The FA had previously outsourced its licensing operation to "external agencies." The body said the move is designed to ensure "greater revenues generated from licensed products will be ploughed back into football, at every level of our national game." As part of the new operation, a dedicated FA team will "work closely with new and existing licensees and retailers to create products tailored to the demands of consumers." FA commercial division member Nicky Stanton said, "This is a real opportunity for us to work more closely with businesses who truly believe and share the values of The FA to each other's mutual benefit" (SOCCEREX, 3/9).
