Dave King Suspends Trio From Scottish Championship Side Rangers Board

Scottish Championship side Rangers suspended Derek Llambias, Barry Leach and Sandy Easdale from its football club board "pending an internal investigation," according to the BBC. Rangers' new controlling consortium had promised an investigation into "various contracts and deals" following its takeover on Friday. It took control "following an extraordinary meeting at which South Africa-based businessman Dave King won a vote among shareholders to oust the plc board." The trio has "three weeks to respond to their suspension" (BBC, 3/10). The SCOTSMAN reported the club has made two swift appointments "recruiting two non-executive directors." The appointments of John Bennett and Chris Graham "was announced in an AIM statement." James Blair has been appointed company secretary of Rangers Int'l Football Club -- the holding company of the club -- "with immediate effect" (SCOTSMAN, 3/10). The Scotland DAILY RECORD reported Bennett, 51, "is the director of European Equities at Henderson Global Investors while the 38-year-old Graham is a director of his own company, Graham Consulting Solutions Limited, as well as being a high-profile member of Rangers Supporters Trust" (DAILY RECORD, 3/10).
