Executive Transactions

Scottish Championship side Rangers shareholders removed CEO DEREK LLAMBIAS and finance Dir BARRY LEACH from the board, replacing them with South African shareholder DAVE KING "and his allies PAUL MURRAY and JOHN GILLIGAN."  A third director, car salesman DOUGLAS PARK, was "appointed to the board" following the vote (FT, 3/6). ... DAVE CAMERON has been re-elected West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president for a second term, until '17, after the Jamaican "defeated his sole challenger," former West Indies fast bowler JOEL GARNER, with a "convincing" 8 votes to 4 margin. Cameron "further stamped his authority" when his deputy EMMANUEL NANTHAN won the vice presidency election for the second successive time, defeating Trinidad & Tobago businessman BALDATH MAHABIR "also by an 8-4 margin." The elections, which were held in Kingston on Saturday as part of the WICB annual general meeting, "assumed particular importance" since Cameron received a lot of criticism for his handling of West Indies' pull-out from the India tour last year (ESPN, 3/7).

COACHES/MANAGERS: BARRY SMITH has resigned from his position as manager of Scottish Championship side Alloa Athletic. The former Dundee boss replaced PAUL HARTLEY at Recreation Park last January and in December "led them to the Challenge Cup final" with the club's first win over the Rangers in the semifinals. Since then, the Wasps have won only once in 13 league matches and "sit second bottom of the Championship" (BBC, 3/7).
