Pay-TV Network Sky Deutschland Sets New Ratings High For Bundesliga Broadcasts

German pay-TV network Sky Deutschland "recorded a new ratings high for its Bundesliga games broadcasts on Saturday afternoon," according to Marcel Pohlig of DWDL. Sky's coverage of the Bundesliga matches obtained an 18.1% market share in the target demographic 14-49. It "was the highest figure ever for Sky in this category." The broadcast attracted 1.6 million viewers, including 860,000 in the target demo starting at 3:30pm. The overall market share was 11.7%. The game between Mainz and Mönchengladbach, which kicked off at 6:30pm, was watched by 630,000 viewers and had a 2.6% share. In the target demographic, the 2-2 draw obtained a 4.6% share as 340,000 viewers tuned in (DWDL, 3/8).

WINTER SPORTS: QUOTENMETER's Manuel Nunez Sanchez reported biathlon attracted an average of 3.51 million viewers on Thursday afternoon. German public broadcaster ZDF, which aired the mixed relay race starting at 4:20pm, obtained a market share of 21.7%. In the target demographic, the race, which was won by the Czech Republic, recorded 410,000 viewers and had an 8.4% share (QUOTENMETER, 3/6).
