Serie A Side Inter Milan Reportedly Plans $77M Renovation Of San Siro

Serie A side Inter Milan is reportedly planning a €70M ($77M) renovation of San Siro "if and when" AC Milan moves out to build its own stadium, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. The Rossoneri "are determined to follow the lead of Juventus and develop a stadium of their own." Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore revealed on Thursday that those plans "will see Inter undertake renovations of the Giuseppe Meazza stadium," and it would look to take ownership of the ground. The paper said that the Beneamata are prepared to invest €70M "to improve the stadium and the surrounding area, though plans have not yet been submitted." The two Milanese clubs "have a joint lease agreement until 2030." It is thought that an agreement "could be found to let Milan out of the deal early and start work in Portello, should they be granted planning permission" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 3/5).
