Manchester City's Parent Group CFG Launches City Football Japan

City Football Group, whose family of clubs and football-related businesses includes Man City, Major League Soccer side New York City FC, A-League club Melbourne City and a minority stake in J.League side Yokohama F. Marinos, has formally launched City Football Japan, which has now begun operations. CFG has also appointed Takao Toshishige as managing director of CFJ. Based in Tokyo, CFJ, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of CFG, will oversee the Group’s commercial operations in Japan and work closely with Yokohama F. Marinos. Prior to joining CFJ, Toshishige was senior director at Rakuten Inc. and served also as a director at Crimson Football Club Inc. City Football Group CEO Ferran Soriano: "Now we have a permanent home and in Toshishige-San, we have the perfect individual to lead our operations. Creating City Football Japan will give us an opportunity to strengthen further our relationships with Nissan and with our colleagues at Yokohama F. Marinos, and help to support and develop Japanese football" (Man City).
