Brasileiro Side Vasco Da Gama Lines Up Sponsors For Start Of Season

Brasileiro side Vasco Da Gama "will renew its major sponsorship deals with Guaracamp and Caixa," according to Samindra Kunti of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. The news "is a boost for the Rio club ahead of its return to the Brazilian top-flight." Last season Vasco Da Gama "spent a torrid time in the Brazilian second division." Revenues, income and gates "were small." The club "is tying up sponsorship deals to get its campaign underway." Soft-drink producer Guaracamp "looks poised" to contribute €2.75M ($3.1M) this season as shirt sponsors. The deal "has not been signed officially." Vasco Da Gama declined to comment, "but did note that talks have been good and that a new deal was on the cards." Brazilian bank Caixa "also signaled its intention to continue its sponsorship of Brazilian football, including its deal with Vasco Da Gama." The Rio club would get €4.6M ($5.2M) from Caixa in '15, but is holding out for €6.4M ($7.2M) (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 2/20).
