Media Notes: Fox Sports Retains Dutch Europa League Rights

Fox Sports in the Netherlands "has retained the broadcast rights" to the UEFA Europa League for a further three-year cycle. The broadcaster "will continue to televise the pan-continental competition" until the end of the '17-18 season, after agreeing a new deal with UEFA (SOCCEREX, 2/19). ... Public broadcaster Prasar Bharti told the Indian Supreme Court that "it was not feasible for the government and the public broadcaster to run a new channel for exclusive broadcast of World Cup matches." Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Prasar Bharti, told the apex court that "they were not in a position to create a separate channel as they had limited number of transmitters" (PTI, 2/19).
