League Notes: Victorian Horse Trainers Turn On Association Over Cobalt Stance

Dozens of Victorian horse trainers "are turning on their representative body, the Australian Trainers Association, maintaining that Racing Victoria have been wrongly maligned in the cobalt chloride scandal." The ATA "sent out a media release claiming that it was disappointed and concerned at a formal request to provide explanations into a local rule being introduced in April." One trainer said, "It looks as though the ATA is putting the blame on RVL for the cobalt readings above the threshold" (THE AGE, 2/15). ... For the first time at the Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) Track Cycling World Championships, some riders' bikes will be equipped with cameras, thanks to a partnership with Infront/HBS. The initiative will apply to several events during the five days of racing. In order to ensure fairness between riders, all participants of these events will have cameras on their bikes. They will be fixed under the bike seats and will film the action taking place behind (UCI).
