Huawei and Sport Lisboa e Benfica, one of the greatest European football clubs, today signed an Official Technological Partnership for the next two years. Huawei will be working with Benfica to enhance the fans’ experience and explore innovation opportunities.

The agreement between Huawei and Benfica, which makes Huawei the “Official Technological Partner of Benfica”, will see the two partners collaborate on better uses of ICT to help supporters and members make the most out of their football experience.

Mr. Walter Ji, CEO of Huawei Portugal & Spain, declared: “We are delighted to sign this partnership for the next two years with Benfica. This partnership will contribute greatly to opening a new framework for technological possibilities in Benfica’s stadium and generating greater value for sports and for business”.

One of the key projects of this partnership is the implementation of Huawei’s Agile Stadium Solution, which enables Benfica to improve the interactive experience for fans and create a better connected stadium.

This partnership will involve Huawei’s high-density Wi-Fi technology and IT infrastructure such as power solutions at Benfica’s home ground, the Estádio da Luz, as well as the supply of smartphones, tablets and other consumer products.
