Swimming Australia High Performance Dir MICHAEL SCOTT announced that "he would be heading to Rowing Australia as the new chief executive." Scott: "Taking on the role of CEO at Rowing Australia for me as a sports professional is an opportunity that doesn’t come along very often." SA CEO MARK ANDERSON "asked Scott to stay on until May, until a replacement can be found" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 2/6). ... TV3 Group Dir of Content JEFF FORD "is leaving the broadcaster" to take up the position of GM at Fox Int'l Channels U.K., which is based near his home in London. Ford, who joined TV3 in early '13, said that "family commitments were a part of his decision to return" to the U.K. (IRISH TIMES, 2/4). ... Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin has sacked head coach JOS LUHUKAY after the club “suffered a third successive” defeat on Wednesday. Former Hertha player PAL DARDAI and former assistant RAINER WIDMAYER “will now take over team duties ahead of Saturday’s trip to Mainz” (SKY SPORTS, 2/5).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin has sacked head coach JOS LUHUKAY after the club “suffered a third successive” defeat on Wednesday. Former Hertha player PAL DARDAI and former assistant RAINER WIDMAYER “will now take over team duties ahead of Saturday’s trip to Mainz” (SKY SPORTS, 2/5). ... Spanish second division side Sabadell coach ÁLEX GARCÍA resigned on Thursday. The club's administrative council accepted his decision, "with both parties agreeing to terminate his contract, which linked him to the club through the end of the season" (MARCA, 2/5). ... Dutch football club Den Bosch appointed former kickboxer RENÉ VAN ECK as its new coach to succeed RUUD KAISER, "who was sacked last week." Van Eck "is known for his unorthodox approach to training, having previously used kickboxing methods to prepare his teams" (London GUARDIAN, 2/5).
