Marketplace Roundup: ManU Announces Partnership With Mauritius IT Firm Emtel

ManU on Thursday announced a multi-year partnership with Mauritius-based mobile operator and IT company Emtel Ltd. As the club's first official triple play and MUTV broadcaster in the country, the new partnership will see Emtel stream ManU content across TV, mobile and Internet platforms in conjunction with Canal+ and CanalSat (ManU). ... Cricket Ireland has teamed up with Irish energy provider Flogas in a partnership in which Flogas becomes CI's official energy partner (Cricket Ireland). ... Super League rugby announced that Isuzu has extended its partnership with the U.K.'s elite Rugby League competition. Isuzu will receive branding rights at major games throughout the '15 season in addition to the opportunity to promote the latest range of Isuzu pick-up trucks at events such as Magic Weekend and the First Utility Super League Grand Final (Super League). ... The European Senior Tour's Travis Perkins Masters has extended its sponsorship agreement with the home improvement retailer until '18, with an increased prize fund for '15 of £320,000 ($490,600) -- an increase of £20,000 ($30,700) from last year. This year marks Travis Perkins' eighth consecutive edition as title sponsor (European Tour).

IN GERMANY
: Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin agreed to a sponsorship deal with South Korean tiremaker Kumho Tyre. The company will receive extensive ad presence on LED boards as well as in the club's publications. The deal will run until the end of the '16-17 season (Hertha Berlin). ... Second Bundesliga side VfL Bochum has extended its shirt sponsorship deal with discount retail chain Netto for another two years. The company's logo will remain on the front of the club's jerseys until June 30, 2017. Netto has been the club's shirt sponsor since '09 (VfL Bochum). ... Second Bundesliga club FSV Frankfurt has extended and increased its partnership with the Taiwan Embassy in Germany until June 30. In addition, Taiwan's logo presence will be increased, for example on the team bus (FSV Frankfurt). ... Infront "has acquired the marketing rights for the World Endurance Championship." Infront "replaces IMG as the series' marketing partners with the start of the '15 season." WEC organizers said that IMG "failed to publicise the undoubtedly high potential of the series" (MOTORSPORT-TOTAL, 2/4).

MOURINHO SIGNS WITH FOODCARE: Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho has signed a personal endorsement deal with Polish brand FoodCare. He will endorse FoodCare's 4Move brand of isotonic drinks (SOCCEREX, 2/5).
