Eurosport Scores Top Ratings With Broadcast Of Men's, Women's Australian Open Finals

Pan-European sports network Eurosport "recorded more than 300,000 viewers for its broadcast of the men's Australian Open final on Sunday morning," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. An average of 330,000 tuned in to watch Novak Djokovic defeat Andy Murray in four sets. The number translated into a market share of 2.8%. In the target demographic 14-49, the final obtained a 2.2%. The women's final between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova on Saturday was watched by 160,000 viewers. In the target demographic, Williams' straight-set victory had a 1.8% market share.

HANDBALL WORLDS: German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland obtained a 2.6% market share in the target demographic for its broadcast of the handball game between Germany and Slovenia on Saturday. A total of 240,000 viewers tuned in to watch Germany's 30-27 win. The world championship final between France and Qatar was watched by 140,000 viewers on Sunday. In the target demographic, France's 25-22 victory had a 0.8% market share (DWDL, 2/2).
