Russian Business That Bid For La Liga Side Valencia Protesting Club's Sale To Peter Lim

Russian business Zolotaya Zvezda, which turned in a bid to acquire La Liga side Valencia last year, "is not giving up in its effort to show that its offer was the best of those presented to buy the club," according to PLAZA DEPORTIVA. The bid's rep, Mikhail Botsko, "will present a claim to a Valencian court arguing that the successful bid by Peter Lim was not the best and that the ruling should be canceled." The Russian bid never showed "guarantees of solvency" and was unable to prove to lender Bankia that it possessed the sum of €616M that it said it had. It is "not expected that the suit will be admitted in court, as the sale was carried out by an independent entity and approved by all of the appropriate parties." Nevertheless, "there is frustration both at the club and at former shareholder Fundación VCF over the insistence by the Russians" (PLAZA DEPORTIVA, 2/2).
