Tokyo 2020 Organizers Make Nippon Telegraph And Telephone Corp. First Domestic Sponsor

Tokyo Olympic organizers have signed up Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation as the first domestic sponsor of the 2020 Games, according to the AP. NTT, which provided a variety of telecommunications services for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, will be the organizing committee's official telecom services partner. Tokyo organizers and NTT "did not release financial terms of the deal." NTT is the largest telecom in the world "in terms of revenue." Tokyo's domestic sponsorships "are separate from the global TOP sponsorship program" run by the IOC (AP, 1/26).
