Media Notes: SNTV Signs Partnership With Professional Squash Association

Sports video news agency SNTV signed an agreement with the Professional Squash Association. SNTV will deliver daily coverage cleared for broadcast and digital clients from major PSA events, including the World Championship and J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions (SNTV). ... Infront has negotiated broadcast coverage into almost 100 countries and territories. Agreements for the FIS Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships have been sealed with close to 30 broadcasters with full HDTV coverage guaranteed worldwide (Infront). ... The Slovak channel Slovak Sport.TV 3 "will cease transmissions" on Thursday. According to Zive, its operator Slovak Sport.TV "will retain its two other channels, with the first remaining a paid-for service and the second free of charge" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 1/13). ...  Int'l sports media operator Livesport.eu "secured the majority of the shares in Enetpulse, provider of live sports data and insights" (SBC NEWS, 1/14). ... Ghana Youth & Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga confirmed that the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation "approached the government to financially support it to acquire the media rights for the 2015 African Cup of Nations" which begins on Saturday. GBC "has been struggling to raise the needed funds to buy the rights to broadcast the matches to its viewers and audiences" (JOY SPORTS, 1/13). ... German sports network Sport1 "has extended its media rights deal with the FIA World Rally Championship for another two years." The free-to-air TV channel "will broadcast from each of the 13 races per season until the end of the '16 season" (DWDL, 1/14).
