Spanish Football League Unanimously Approves Of Reforms To Disciplinary Code

Spanish Football League (LFP) President Javier Tebas and Spanish Superior Sports Council (CSD) President Miguel Cardenal announced unanimous approval of reforms to the LFP's disciplinary code and statutes to prevent violence. The measures came into effect on Tuesday. Cardenal explained the new sanctions, saying, "The partial and total closure of stadiums, points deductions, relegation, banning directors as well as the effective implementation of personnel who will be in attendance at games to ensure that all those involved with the sporting event abide by the rules and furthermore, that this check, with the adopted measures, could then be used as legal evidence." He also pointed out that the effectiveness of these components being put in place by the LFP, which is making a big effort to bring in more personnel, will ensure that these measures are correctly implemented. Cardenal said that the measures "will be sufficient to tackle the problem of stadium violence." Tebas also confirmed that Alfredo Lorenzo will be the LFP's new director of security (LFP).
