Major League Baseball club San Diego Padres announced that its 2015 FanFest will include an exhibition game against Mexican Baseball League (LMB) club Diablos Rojos on April 4 at San Diego's Petco Park. The event will be free, but pre-registration will be required for tickets. The game will start at 2pm (LA AFICION, 1/12). ... Tennis Australia President Steve Healy said that the organization will prop up the Hobart Int'l "as the tournament struggles for dollars." The A$250,000 ($204,000) seven-day event is in its 22nd year in '15 and, "although attracting a swathe of the world's top 30 to 60 ranked women, is operating without a major sponsor." Healy: "We'd love it to be profitable. (It will) probably break even ... (But) we will continue to support it though where necessary" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 1/13). ... ManU announced the second leg of its United: LIVE fan party, taking place on Jan. 31 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The festival will offer a day of football and entertainment, including live music sets from some of Indonesia's biggest bands, a special screening of The Greatest Story Ever Told -- a biopic of the club's history, as well as coaching sessions from the ManU football school coaches. The event will build up to a live screening of ManU's home game against Leicester City (ManU).
