La Liga side Valencia Manager NUNO ESPÍRITO SANTO will "remain in charge" until June '18 after the club and coach "successfully concluded several months of contract talks." Valencia issued a statement to announce the news. Half a season and an "excellent run of results are all it has taken for Valencia to extend his stay at the club" (MARCA, 1/12). ... BOB PEETERS has been sacked as head coach of League Championship side Charlton after eight months in charge. Peeters, who signed a 12-month contract with the club in May, leaves Charlton "14th in the table with 31 points from 25 matches." Senior professional development coach PATRICK VAN HOUDT and performance analyst GUY KIALA have "also had their contracts terminated" (REUTERS, 1/11).
