Media Notes: Sony Six Bags Rights To 2015 Africa Cup Of Nations

Sony Six "bagged the rights to air the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 live in South Asia." This year’s edition "will be the first ever to be shown live in India and will feature line-ups" (INDIAN TELEVISION, 1/9). ... Sony Six "is set to telecast the Grand Slam of Asia Pacific region, the Australian Open, in India for duration of five years." The channel "will exclusively telecast all the matches of the tournament live from 2015 till 2019." This "will be Six’s first entry into broadcasting a Grand Slam event" (INDIAN TELEVISION, 1/12). ... ESPN’s media distribution arm agreed to one-year deals to televise this season’s NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl in Africa with two of the continent’s leading sports broadcasters -- Supersport and Zuku Sport. ESPN negotiated rights with Supersport, the African sports channel, for all territories in Sub-Saharan Africa, to broadcast live coverage of the NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl XLIX (ESPN). ... BT Sport, the NBA and Facebook are combining to deliver sports fans an innovative digital experience for the NBA Global Games London at The O2. Between 7:15pm and 8pm on Thursday, "The BT Sport Facebook Lounge" will feature live appearances from celebrities attending the event. Arsenal and England player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will join BT Sport presenter Helen Skelton on the show (BT Sport).
