Marketplace Roundup: German Handball Federation Partners With Türenheld.de

The German Handball Federation (DHB) signed a new sponsorship deal with the Fenster & Türen Welt. The company will be present on LED boards during national team home games through its online initiative Türenheld.de. The two-year deal was brokered by Sportfive (DHB). ... Handball Bundesliga (HBL) club HSG Wetzlar has extended its partnership with main sponsor Licher for another three years. The brewery will continue to be featured on the players jerseys along with logo presence on boards and on the court during home games (HSG Wetzlar). ... Adidas and fashion designer Stella McCartney have teamed up once again to launch StellaSport: a "new sports range aimed at a younger female audience." Launching on Jan. 15, the range includes color-pop "accents in shades of cerise pink and kelly green on everything from gym socks to tracksuit jackets" (FINANCIAL TIMES, 1/6). ... Brasileiro side Corinthians "signed a short-term sponsorship deal with global detergents and adhesives company Henkel." The brand, headquartered in Germany, "will sponsor the Brazilian club’s in-house coverage of its pre-season tour" to the U.S. (SOCCEREX, 6/1). ... Plus500 Ltd., a leading online service provider for retail customers to trade CFDs internationally, announced that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with La Liga side Atlético Madrid, to be an official sponsor for the remainder of the '14-15 season, with both parties considering extending and expanding the relationship for further seasons. The Plus500 logo will be featured as an official sponsor on the back of the home and away Atlético shirts for national matches. Plus500 will receive a range of branding rights at the stadium (Plus500).

A NEW BAG: French professional golfer Romain Wattel has “decided to switch his kit supplier” from Titleist to Nike for the 2015 season. The change will go into effect next week at the first tournament of the '15 season in Abu Dhabi (L'EQUIPE, 1/7). ... Under Armour and HTC announced a new strategic partnership "that will see the brands collaborate for a new product range featuring UA Record, the newest addition to Under Armour Connected Fitness Network." The new activity tracker reportedly "has the ability to sync with thousands of fitness tracker apps and users can also share records, pit challenges and track personal feats with their network of up to 20 friends" (SPORT INDUSTRY, 1/7). ... The Professional Squash Association signed a new broadcast and marketing partnership with BT Sport that will see it become the PSA’s official British broadcast partner for the PSA World Series tournaments and the World Championship. BT Sport will also receive extensive branding at all U.K.-based PSA events and form an integral part of all marketing and communication activity with the PSA’s growing U.K. squash community (PSA).

LMB LOGO: The Mexican Baseball League (LMB), which was founded in '25, presented a commemorative logo for its 90th anniversary season. The logo will be used throughout the '15 season. The league invited fans to use the hashtag #LMB90Aniversario on social media throughout the year (LA AFICION, 1/6).
