Virat Kohli Becomes First Cricket Player To Reach 5 Million Followers On Twitter

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who will lead the team in the fourth and final Test against Australia in Sydney starting Jan. 6, "became the first cricketer to cross the 5-million mark on Twitter with 5,004,544 followers," according to the TIMES OF INDIA. Kohli is "on top of the most followed cricketers on Twitter list." Kohli (@imVkohli) "heads the list with a total base of 5,004,544 fans, which is higher than ​Sachin Tendulkar's (@sachin_rt) 4,910,498 fans." In just over three months, that Kohli "has gained over a million followers goes to underline his rising popularity." Others in the tally "include Virender Sehwag (over 3.2 million followers), Yuvraj Singh (2.7 million), Suresh Raina (2.6 million), Zaheer Khan (1.7 million), Gautam Gambhir (1.65 million) and Rohit Sharma (1.62 million)" (TIMES OF INDIA, 1/2).
