Nippon Professional Baseball Club Yomiuri Giants To Wear Under Armour Gear In '15

Nippon Professional Baseball club Yomiuri Giants "will be outfitted by Under Armour in 2015, under a new agreement," according to Jeff Barker of the BALTIMORE SUN. The multi-year apparel and accessories partnership "was announced in Tokyo by the team and Dome Corp., which is licensed to sell the Baltimore-based company’s products in Japan." The agreement "covers game-day uniforms and training gear." The Giants, who play at Tokyo Dome, "are the oldest of 12 Nippon Professional Baseball teams" (BALTIMORE SUN, 12/22). The YOMIURI SHIMBUN reported the road jerseys will sport “TOKYO” across the chest. It is "the first time in 13 seasons the Giants will display the word Tokyo on their jerseys." Giants President Hiroshi Kubo said, “This incorporates the fact that we play in Tokyo and the team is representative of Japan" (YOMIURI SHIMBUN, 12/23).
