Marketplace Roundup: El Tri Reportedly To Wear Black Shirts At 2015 Copa América

The Mexican national football team reportedly could use a black jersey during the 2015 Copa América, which will be held next summer in Chile. This was reported by the Todo Sobre Camisetas website, which leaked images of the possible shirts and "assured that they will be El Tri's primary uniform during the tournament" (RECORD, 12/15). ... Bundesliga side Hannover 96 "has extended its kit deal with Jako for another four years." Jako "has been the club's kit supplier since '11-12 when it replaced Under Armour" (HAZ, 12/15). ... Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg announced a partnership with China’s largest tire manufacturer Linglong Tire beginning on Jan. 1. The top partnership comprises the commitment with Wolfsburg United, the int'l sporting project from VfL, and will subsequently support the respective Unicef projects and the VfL football school (VfL Wolfsburg). ... Bundaberg Rum will become the official rum partner for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Bundaberg Rum products will be supplied at a number of Cricket World Cup venues (ICC). ... Careem has been announced as a business partner of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship tournament. Careem will offer car-booking services on its website and IOS/Android Apps (Qatar 2015 Car). Closer to the event, Careem will host a series of digital competitions and promote the Championship through its social media platforms along with its official website (Qatar Handball 2015). ... MTN Zambia "unveiled an improved three-year sponsorship package" with the FA of Zambia where Football House will earn $1.5M annually in '15 and '16. In '17, MTN and FAZ "will renegotiate the sponsorship package exclusively for the senior national team and the Premier Division League." The deal "represents an increase" of more than 150% annually (ALL AFRICA, 12/15). ... Japanese automaker Subaru has "decided to become one of the official partners" of the French Ice Hockey Federation (FFHG) for the ’14-15 season. The partnership will "kick-off at the match between France and Slovenia" on Dec. 19 in Bordeaux. Subaru’s logo will be featured on the back of the jersey and on player helmets (FFHG).

IN AUSTRALIA: Australia’s opening round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship will be sponsored by Swann Insurance. The Australian insurer has agreed to back the event as main sponsor. Swann Insurance supports MotoGP, Australian Superbikes and off-road motorcycling action with the MX-Nationals (World SBK). ... Football Federation Australia announced Telstra as its new official telecom partner. The blue chip Australian company will be a major supporter of the Socceroos, Westfield Matildas and Foxtel A-League All Stars and the A-League, Westfield W-League and Westfield FFA Cup competitions (FFA).

IIHF PAIRS WITH SPORTRADAR: The Int'l Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has announced a three-year partnership with sports data provider Sportradar. Under the partnership, Sportradar will monitor a total of three flagship tournaments from '15-17 and will deliver a total of 12 educational workshops, which will be targeted at participating players, officials, administrators and coaches (IIHF).

FINA PARTNERS WITH HOSA: Chinese sportswear brand Hosa has signed a global partnership with the Int'l Swimming Federation (FINA). Hosa will also sponsor the 2015 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup in Beijing. The FINA/Hosa 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup will organize 10 meets and take place in freshwater and saltwater bodies (XINHUA, 12/14).
