Marketplace Roundup: Carlsberg Brewery Extends Partnership With FC Copenhagen

Danish brewery Carlsberg has extended its longstanding sponsorship of Danish side FC Copenhagen by a further five years. Carlsberg has been the main sponsor of the club since '99. The financial terms of the renewal have not been disclosed (Carlsberg). ... Barcelona has signed a sponsorship deal with Brazilian foot care company Baruel. It is the first regional partnership Barcelona has signed in Brazil and was brokered for the club by the Brazilian-based Traffic Sports agency. As part of the deal, Baruel will be an official partner of Barcelona and will have the right to use the club's marks and logos and, in some cases, video materials in marketing and merchandising activities in Brazil (SOCCEREX, 12/12). ... National Rugby League side Melbourne Storm signed a new partnership with Australian compression brand 2XU to become the club’s official compression partner. 2XU will supply Melbourne Storm and the U20 playing squads with compression garments for the '15 season (Melbourne Storm). ... The Hong Kong Rugby Football Union announced a new partnership with ticket marketplace viagogo "in a bid to protect rugby fans from ticket fraud" (London DAILY MIRROR, 12/12). ... Asbri Golf was appointed to PGA official supplier status after signing a new three-year agreement. The company will continue its sponsorship of the Welsh National PGA Championship, having been the title sponsor for the past two years (PGA). ... Swiss private banking group Julius Baer was announced as the title sponsor for the third round of the all-new FIA Formula E Championship. Held on Dec. 13, the race was titled the 2014 FIA Formula E Julius Baer Punta del Este ePrix. The bank will leverage the sponsorship for client events and a wide range of marketing activities and is already the exclusive global partner of Formula E with prominent branding on the circuit and the cars themselves (Formula E). ... Drinks company Viton 44 "has been unveiled as the new front-of-shirt sponsor" of Brasileiro side Fluminense. Viton "replaces insurance company Unimed Rio as Fluminense’s major shirt sponsors in a two-year deal." Financial details "have not been disclosed" (SOCCEREX, 12/12).
