More Than 6 Million Viewers Tune In To Watch Champions League Game On ZDF

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded more than 6 million viewers for its broadcast of the Champions League game between FC Schalke and NK Maribor," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. The game, which started at 8:45pm on Wednesday evening, attracted 6.01 million viewers. The number translated into an average market share of 20.7%. In the target demographic 14-49, Schalke's 1-0 win obtained a 13.3% share while 1.46 million viewers tuned in (QUOTENMETER, 12/11). The Champions League match between Barcelona and Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain Wednesday garnered 2.21 million viewers for French TV network Canal+, resulting in an audience share of 37.7%. The network “locked in the best audience rating for the group stage in 6 years.” The “first leg has already garnered” 2.32 million viewers, which is a 41.4% audience share (L’EQUIPE, 12/11).
