Surrey County Cricket Club appointed its first director of women's cricket -- with former England and Surrey all-rounder EBONY RAINFORD-BRENT "returning to the club to fill the role." Rainford-Brent will work alongside Academy Dir GARETH TOWNSEND and the Performance Department, "advising on all Women’s Cricket played at the club." She "will also work with the Surrey Cricket Board on the development of the women’s game and strategies to increase participation at all levels" (SKY SPORTS, 12/5). ... Consulting firm Alchemy Global, which provides advisory and capital raising services for emerging growth companies in sports and entertainment, announced that it has opened an office in London. Alchemy's efforts will be led by MICHAEL HUMBERT, who will transition to Alchemy after working with BORIS BECKER's private office in London. Humbert's experience includes more than 10 years operating cross-border in the alternative investments industry and family office market (Alchemy Global). ... The Canadian Olympic Committee named Gold medal-winning moguls skier JEAN-LUC BRASSARD Chef de Mission for the ’16 Rio Games (REUTERS, 12/4).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Liga MX side América Manager ANTONIO MOHAMED will leave the team's coaching staff after the current season, the Apertura 2014 (LA AFICION, 12/6). ... Argentine first division side Vélez Sarsfield Manager JOSÉ FLORES is stepping down from his position. His team's loss to San Lorenzo on Friday "was his last game with the club and possible replacements are already being discussed." Names being mentioned include CARLOS BIANCHI, CARLOS ISCHIA, JULIO FALCIONI, MIGUEL RUSSO and OMAR ASAD (CLARIN, 12/6). ... Former Switzerland footballer ALEXANDER FREI "announced his departure as the sporting director" of Swiss Super League club FC Luzern after "only 20 months in office" (SO FOOT, 12/7).
