Bundesliga Side FC Augsburg Reports $2.5M Profit For '13-14 Fiscal Year

Bundesliga side FC Augsburg reported a profit of €2.028M ($2.5M) before taxes for the '13-14 fiscal year, according to the SID. The club "announced its financial results at the annual general meeting on Wednesday." Augsburg generated revenue of €47.446M ($59M) and had expenditures of €45.418M ($56.5M) during '13-14. At the beginning of the meeting, club President Walther Seinsch "announced his surprising resignation after 14 years at the helm" (SID, 12/3). SPIEGEL ONLINE reported Seinsch said, "I want to make it short. Today is my last day at work for the FCA. There's no better time to resign from my position. In addition, I have to think about my health." The 73-year-old, who has been the club's president since Nov. '00, will be replaced by current VP Klaus Hofmann (SPIEGEL ONLINE, 12/3).
