Event Notes: Int'l Premier Tennis League To Add Two More Teams Next Year

Int'l Premier Tennis League Founder Mahesh Bhupathi "has confirmed the competition would add two more cities next year and also revealed they were forced to turn down interest from two others." Bhupathi "refused to name the two new teams but stated that four cities were in the reckoning initially" (IB TIMES, 12/4). ... New South Wales and South Australia's grieving players "are yet to make a decision on whether they will be able to play in the next round of Sheffield Shield matches that were rescheduled on Thursday." The members of the NSW squad "will not make a call on their availability until after they turn out for their clubs at grade level on Saturday." They "are not yet sure if they are ready for one day of play, let alone four, and will use this weekend's grade games as a gauge" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 12/4). ... An all-Ireland bid to stage the 2023 Rugby World Cup "is set to be officially unveiled." Officials from the Irish Rugby Football Union will "join representatives from the Northern Ireland Executive and Irish government to outline their ambition to jointly host the sport's showpiece event" (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 12/4).
